Bringing holiday cheer to South East Queensland, this community-centric app helps users locate festive displays throughout the region.
The Challenge
Every December, South East Queensland residents decorate their homes with elaborate Christmas light displays, but there was no centralized resource for visitors to discover these locations. The community needed a way to share and find the best festive displays across the region.
Our Solution
We created the SEQ Christmas Lights app using Flutter to deliver a consistent experience across iOS and Android devices. The platform enables users to submit and discover Christmas light displays, with integrated mapping, ratings, and photos to help families plan their holiday viewing routes.
Results
The app has become a holiday staple in SEQ, with over 25,000 active users during the Christmas season. More than 1,500 light displays were registered in the most recent season, and users created over 3,000 custom viewing routes using the app's planning feature.
